Four ways to use toner correctly

Choosing the right toner can more effectively moisturize the skin after application and avoid tightness and dryness.

① Patting method

Patting toner on the face is our most common way of using it. But it should be noted that patting toner on the face will not accelerate skin absorption.

Patting toner on the face is to adjust the temperature of the toner to be closer to the skin with the palm of the hand, which increases the comfort of use. This method is suitable for all skin types.

② Wiping method

This method uses toner mainly to treat the stratum corneum.

Soak the cotton pad with toner, and gently wipe it from the inside to the outside along the skin texture. You can repeat the wiping action in the T-zone to achieve secondary cleansing and regulate the water and oil balance of the skin surface. However, this method is not suitable for dry and sensitive skin, which will cause sensitive irritation of the skin keratin.

③ Pressing method

The pressing method is a method that is more suitable for our daily skin care. Pour an appropriate amount of toner on the cotton pad or the palm of a clean hand, apply slight pressure on the face, and “press” the toner into the skin. This method of use is the least irritating to the skin and is suitable for all skin types.

④ Wet compress method

This is also a popular skin care method recently. Soak the cotton pad fully with toner, make sure there is no dry part of the cotton pad, and apply the cotton pad to the whole face or some dry and sensitive parts.

Wet compress is a skin care method that can relieve skin tension in a timely and effective manner. But special attention should be paid to the fact that the wet compress time should be controlled within 3-5 minutes. Too long will cause the skin’s stratum corneum to be over-hydrated and cause skin barrier sensitivity.

In addition, it is advisable to choose a toner with a single ingredient for wet compress, and avoid choosing toner containing alcohol, fruit acid, and salicylic acid, because these ingredients will irritate the skin.
