How to Exfoliate Scientifically

1.Common exfoliating products

Scrubs use microparticles to mechanically rub the stratum corneum. Excessive force will damage the skin. It is safer to use it on the back, hands, feet and other parts with thick stratum corneum. It is best not to use it on the face or use it less. Even if you want to use it, you should choose products suitable for the face.

2.Frequency of facial exfoliation

First of all, any exfoliating product cannot be used every day like a moisturizer.Because the renewal cycle of the stratum corneum takes at least 2 weeks, frequent exfoliation will destroy the protective function of the stratum corneum.

The frequency of exfoliation varies according to skin type:

Generally speaking, oily skin can be exfoliated 1-2 times a week; dry, neutral and mixed skin can be exfoliated once every 2 weeks, focusing on the T zone (forehead and nose); sensitive skin should be more cautious and it is best not to exfoliate.

The stratum corneum is the first protective system of the skin. Don’t pursue beauty too much. For the sake of health, you still have to take good care of this “barrier”
